Yesterday, Salma Hayek attended Jurlique’s Biodynamic BBQ party, hosted by Brett Ratner (director of After the Sunset). She looked fantastic as she was photographed alongside Ratner and Stevie Wonder, as well as getting a massage. Photos have been added to the gallery. Enjoy!

Salma Hayek is too upbeat to let her latest failed romance get her down, according to her close pal, Felipe Fernandez Del Paso.

The director insists the actress is doing well, despite recently calling off her engagement to businessman Francois-Henri Pinault, the father of her daughter Valentina.

And Del Paso insists the split wasn’t as shocking as the media suggested. He says, “It came as a shock to you, but not to those who know her, and my friend is not depressed. They’re both very intelligent; they have a daughter together and they’ll be able to work it out.”

Hayek’s publicist confirmed the split last week.

I’ve finally uploaded 215 photos from the 2008 Crystal + Lucy Awards, “A Black And White Gala”, which was held on June 17th in Beverly Hills. Salma Hayek looked absolutely fantastic as she walked down the red carpet, and later, got honored at the event. Below are a few tidbits from the event.

“I’m 41 now, and I have to say, it is the best time in my life.” That prompted Jada Pinkett Smith – who was also being recognized, along with her costars from the upcoming chick flick, The Women – to shout out, “You look good!”

“I have learned to enjoy time to be a woman. I have learned to enjoy how to do the most that I can with what I have,” the Ugly Betty producer explained. “It is a good thing to be a 41-year-old Latina woman in America.”

She also gave a shout out to fellow Latina Eva Mendes (another star of The Women), who responded with a loud, “I love you, Salma!”

Salma Hayek and French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault have called off their engagement, their representative confirms to USA TODAY.

“We are sad to announce the engagement of Salma Hayek and Francois-Henri Pinault has been canceled. There will be no further comment”, Hayek’s rep said in a statement.

The couple met in Venice in May 2006. Their daughter, Valentina Paloma, was born in Los Angeles last September. In February, they attended a New York gala celebrating the launch of the flagship Gucci boutique and raising money for Madonna’s Raising Malawi foundation. Pinault is the CEO of PPR, the luxury-brands empire that owns Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent and Balenciaga.

“[She's] outgoing, just colorful,” actor Josh Hutcherson, 15, told PEOPLE.com about Salma’s daughter at Sunday’s L.A. premiere of Journey to the Center of the Earth. Hutcherson costars with Hayek in the upcoming film Cirque du Freak. “She’s just really great.”

“I got to hang out with the baby some,” Hutcherson says. “She was always very caring to her child, Valentina.”

Hayek gave birth to her first child, Valentina Paloma Pinault, with businessman fiancé Francois Henri Pinault last September.

Hayek doesn’t quite look herself in Cirque du Freak, which also costars John C. Reilly and Willem Dafoe. “She was in makeup for an extra few hours, this whole crazy long beard put on,” Hutcherson said.

Asked whether Valentina wore the beard, Hutcherson joked, “I never caught her on with it, but I’m sure she’s dying to.”
