As 2008 is coming to and end, we just wanted to take a look back at this past year for Salma Hayek.
Professionally it was a relatively quiet year for Miss Hayek. She did attend several events; namely some Cannes appearances and charity events like the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Dubai Gala (where she helped raise $1.8 Million) [view entry], Stand Up to Cancer, CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute and Rock the Kasbah Benefiting Virgin Unite to were just a few. She also become the spokeswoman for the Pampers/UNICEF campaign against tetanus [view entry]. Acting wise there was the announcement of her upcoming 30 Rock multiple episodes stint [view entry] and earlier this year she filmed Cirque du Freak (to be announced 2009 release) [view first still].
Personally she called off her engagement to French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault [view entry], although the two were spotted together after [view entry]. She also celebrated her daughter Valentina’s first birthday.
Since there wasn’t much media (magazines, film stills) coverage this year, here is a look back out our favorite public event looks of Miss Hayek from 2008. View all of the appearances here. Feel free to post your own favorites here!

Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin was left red-faced when Salma Hayek had to shove her hands down his trousers on his TV show 30 Rock.
Hayek, 42, had to make the move in the pair’s very first scene in her cameo on the show that left Baldwin, 50, embarrassed, reports.
“Salma plays my mother’s nurse and I find out I have testicular cancer. She shoves her hands down my pants and that was the first episode I shot with Salma,” he said.
However, the actor was bowled over by the Mexican-American actress’ charm and added: “We shot another five episodes after that and she’s just adorable.”

A smattering of Hollywood stars made their way out to Dubai’s latest attraction, the Atlantis hotel, for the second annual Cinema Against AIDS gala in Dubai, which raised $1.8 million Friday night.
Fellow co-chairs Salma Hayek and Laura Linney attended alongside Jeffrey Wright, Danny Glover, Harry and Pamela Belafonte, Oliver Stone, Terry Gilliam and Anna Ferzetti. The Hollywood glitterati mingled with local movers and shakers, many of whom came decked out in national dress.
Hayek sold a one-of-a-kind Cartier Love Handcuff engraved with her autograph for $80,000, and a walk-on role on the television show Ugly Betty that sold for $35,000.
AmfAR’s annual Cinema Against AIDS galas have generated nearly $44 million since 1993 for AIDS research. Thirty three million people live with AIDS worldwide.
