Despite her pregnancy, Salma Hayek is showing no signs of exhaustion. In an interview with TV Guide, America Ferrera, lead actress on the series Ugly Betty attests to Hayek’s enthusiasm and energy. Ferrera said, “She is a force to be reckoned with, and she’s working harder now than she was before she was pregnant. There is no stopping her. You kind of have to hold her still and say, ‘Calm down and sit down for a second.’ But she’s happy and I’m happy for her, and I think she deserves everything in the world!”
Hayek, a 40-year old Mexican native, studied International Relations at the Universidad Iberoamericana but left school to pursue acting professionally. She starred on the telenovela Teresa and El Callejon de los Milagros, which has garnered more awards than any other film in the history of Mexican cinema. Her other acting credits included Desperado, From Dusk Till Dawn, Wild Wild West, Dogma, Frida, and Once Upon a Time in Mexico to name a few. Apart from being an Academy award-nominated actress, she is also known as an Emmy-winning director, as well as a film and television producer.
Although both are highly profiled names, Hayek and Pinault maintain a low profile relationship. And like her romantic endeavors, Hayek initially kept her pregnant state under wraps from the cast and crew of Ugly Betty. Ferrera recounts, “I noticed that she was glowing.”

 I’m very happy for Salma right now! It has been confirmed by her publicist, Ina Treciokas, that Salma, 40, and her husband-to-be, French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault, 44, are expecting their first child together! I really had no idea that Salma was engaged nor pregnant. I’m so happy for the couple! Congratulations for the engagement and the baby!

Tonight is the night – The 79th Annual Academy Awards is here! I assume I’m speaking for us all when I say that I really hope Salma will attend the award show, at least to support one of her best friends, Penélope Cruz, who’s nominated in the “Best Actress”-category for Volver. You just have to check back to Salma Hayek Web to get the answer to that question. If she does attend, you can be sure that we will bring you the latest pictures (and hopefully videos) of Salma. The show will be aired live from 5 PT/8 ET on ABC. Stay tuned…
EDIT: Unfortunately, Salma did not appear on the Academy Awards nor it’s after-parties this year.

Earlier today, AskMen.com unveiled their annual list of the Top 99 Most Desirable Women of 2007. The poll got 8.5 million votes, and our Salma got to place 32 on the list. Winner of the poll was singer/actress Beyoncé, followed by actresses Scarlett Johansson and Jessica Alba.
