Salma Hayek’s dog saved her life on the day of the Golden Globe Awards, The Insider’s Pat O’Brien reports.

The Ugly Betty creator explains that she “had a headache and went to lie down” and was awakened from her nap by her dog, Diva, grabbing at her sleeve and trying to pull her out of the house. The 40-year-old actress then realized that the gas was on in her house.

Hayek credits Diva as being the reason she was there to celebrate with the rest of theUgly Betty cast later that night. The ABC series won two Golden Globes on Monday, including best television comedy and best actress in a TV comedy for its breakout star, America Ferrera.

Salma Hayek and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President, Sid Ganis, will announce 10 of the 24 Academy Awards nominees on Tuesday, January 23. The Oscars award show will be telecasted live on ABC at 5 p.m. PST (8 p.m. EST) on February 25.

Great news! Salma has been announced as a presenter at the The 64th Annual Golden Globe Awards! Other presenters to be seen at the awards are Reese Witherspoon, Felicity Huffman, Ben Stiller and Justin Timberlake. The show will be telecasted live on NBC Monday, January 15 (8 – 11:00 p.m. EST) at The Beverly Hilton.

Every year, an award for the best nude scene is given away by Mr. Skin. This year, the award went to our own Salma Hayek for her role in Ask the Dust. The scene, which got the prize, is the one at the beach with Salma and co-star Colin Farrell. Other names appearing on the list are Jennifer Aniston (for The Break-Up), Bai Ling (for Edmond) and Brittany Daniel (for Rampage: The Hillside Strangler Murders).
