A smattering of Hollywood stars made their way out to Dubai’s latest attraction, the Atlantis hotel, for the second annual Cinema Against AIDS gala in Dubai, which raised $1.8 million Friday night.

Fellow co-chairs Salma Hayek and Laura Linney attended alongside Jeffrey Wright, Danny Glover, Harry and Pamela Belafonte, Oliver Stone, Terry Gilliam and Anna Ferzetti. The Hollywood glitterati mingled with local movers and shakers, many of whom came decked out in national dress.

Hayek sold a one-of-a-kind Cartier Love Handcuff engraved with her autograph for $80,000, and a walk-on role on the television show Ugly Betty that sold for $35,000.

AmfAR’s annual Cinema Against AIDS galas have generated nearly $44 million since 1993 for AIDS research. Thirty three million people live with AIDS worldwide.

Amazing news! Salma has signed on for more episodes of 30 Rock. Thanks to Filip for alerting me!

NBC announced on Friday that the actress, who plays Jack Donaghy’s (Alec Baldwin) love interest Elisa, will be a recurring character on the series.

“I am so excited to be part of such an intelligent, funny show, as well as working with the brilliant Alec Baldwin and the rest of the cast of 30 Rock,” Salma said in a statement released to Access Hollywood.

In a figure hugging dress, Salma spent Friday afternoon filming scenes for the series in Brooklyn, NY.

The actress smiled for snappers in between shooting scenes with Alec, who turned up dressed in Jack Donaghy’s traditional suit. A host of children appeared to also take part in the scene.

But one child stayed on the sidelines – Salma’s daughter Valentina, who accompanied her mom to the set.

30 Rock premieres on October 30 (Thursday, 9:30-10 p.m. ET).
