She who produces and once guest-starred on ABC’s Ugly Betty now has landed a plum gig on another Thursday-night series. Salma Hayek has been confirmed for a recurring role on NBC’s Emmy-winning 30 Rock, playing no less than former GE exec Jack Donaghy’s new love interest.
“I have been a fan of [30 Rock exec producer] Tina [Fey]’s talent, both as an actress and a writer, since working with her years ago on SNL,” Hayek says in a statement. ” I am so excited to be part of such an intelligent, funny show, as well as working with the brilliant Alec Baldwin and the rest of the cast of 30 Rock.”
Fey, in turn, hails Hayek as “smart, funny, and gorgeous, adding that “she will be a great strong presence opposite Jack Donaghy.”

If there was any doubts before, it’s now official! We will, of course, have screencaps and videos of Salma’s episodes once they air.
Salma Hayek could be on the 30 Rock set as early as this week!
Her rep just confirmed to me that she will be shooting an upcoming appearance on the hit NBC series and it could be within the next few days.
Tina Fey asked Hayek to guest on the Emmy-winning series as “a character—not as herself” for two episodes, according to a report in the New York Post.

Salma is set to guest star in two episodes of NBC’s TV comedy show 30 Rock. Very exciting!
Salma Hayek is set to make a two episode guest appearance on NBC’s TV comedy show 30 Rock, as a character, not herself.
According to a Pagesix source, show producer Tina Fey called the 42-year-old Mexican-Lebanese actress personally to offer her a guest role in the show, which headlines Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin
Hayek earlier appeared on Ugly Betty, a show that she executive produces.
